Instructions

 

1. Select an excercise from the list of exercises(Click).

2. Based on the molecule, determine the maximum number of signals that can be observed in a 1H-NMR spectrum. 

3. Write your answer in the second column of the left table. You can change the value as many times as you want, but try not to use brute force.

4. If the answer is correct, the row will be coloured in green.

 

Hints

 

Relation between protons on molecules can be homotopic, enantiotopic or diastereotopic. By NMR spectroscopy the diastereotopic protons may yield different chemical shifts. Consider that you can always observe the labile protons.

In this exercise the goal is to dermine how many signals could be observed by NMR.
